I founded Ready Set as a result of my own experience with back pain in my early 20s. I was working in an office, sitting 8 hours a day with no relief on the horizon, and nowhere to turn for a solution to my pain. I felt trapped.

After becoming a Yoga Instructor, I still felt lost. I had a better understanding of how to move my body, but eventually came to the conclusion that performing the same stretches over and over again didn’t provide consistent results. So, I had to look elsewhere.

That same year, I started training to become a massage therapist, and received regular massages. Again, I was applying repeated interventions, but only achieved minimal and inconsistent results. I was at a loss, and constantly in pain. I felt like I was swinging a hammer at a broken nail. Then, I started to understand strength on a deeper level.

Strength was the answer.

Some people get a lot of relief from stretching and massage. But the benefits for most are temporary at best. Exercise is the best tool to guide you in understanding and improving your own body. We move every day, and it’s my job to help you get better at it. With my experience in the physiotherapy/rehab realm as a massage therapist, I approach exercise as if I were giving a massage: you should leave feeling better about your body than when you came in.

Everyone should have the chance to love how their body moves and feels.
